Oil Price Hike....Worried?? Dont BE!!

Someone might think diesel has become really expensive after the recent price hike.
But if you compare it with other common liquids and do some quick calculations, and you will feel little better!

To know why, see the results below – you'll be surprised at how outrageous some other prices are!

Diesel (regular) in Mumbai: Rs. 36.08 per litre

Petrol (regular unleaded) in Mumbai: Rs. 50.51 per litre

Coca Cola 330 ml can: Rs. 20 = Rs. 61 per litre

Dettol antiseptic 100 ml Rs. 20 = Rs. 200 per litre

Radiator coolant 500 ml Rs. 160 = Rs. 320 per litre

Pantene conditioner 400 ml Rs. 165 = Rs. 413 per litre

Medicinal mouthwash like Listerine 100 ml Rs. 45 = Rs. 450 per litre

Red Bull 150 ml can: Rs. 75 = Rs. 500 per litre

Corex cough syrup 100 ml Rs. 57 = Rs. 570 per litre

Evian water 500 ml Rs. 330 = Rs. 660 per litre [Rs. 500 for a litre of WATER???!!! And the buyers don't even know the source (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)]

Kores whiteout 15 ml Rs. 15 = Rs. 1000 per litre

Cup of coffee at any decent business hotel 150 ml Rs. 175 = Rs. 1167 per litre

Old Spice after shave lotion 100 ml Rs. 175 = Rs. 1750 per litre

Pure almond oil 25 ml Rs. 68 = Rs. 2720 per litre

And this is the REAL KICKER...HP deskjet colour ink cartridge 21 ml Rs. 1900 = Rs.90476 per litre!!!

Now you know why computer printers are so cheap? So they have you hooked for the ink!So, the next time you're at the pump, don't curse our honorable Petroleum minister – just be glad your car doesn't run on cough syrup, after shave, coffee, or God forbid, printer ink!

iPhone vulnerable to phishing, spamming flaws

Security researcher Aviv Raff has discovered a pair of basic design flaws that could turn your iPhone into easy bait for malicious phishing and spamming attacks.

According to an advisory from Raff, the iPhone’s Mail and Safari applications are susceptible to a URL Spoofing vulnerability which allow attackers to conduct phishing attacks.

By creating a specially crafted URL, and sending it via an email, an attacker can convince the user that the spoofed URL, showed in the mail application, is from a trusted domain (e.g. Bank, PayPal, Social Networks, etc.).
When clicking on the URL, the Safari browser will be opened. The spoofed URL, showed in the address bar of the Safari browser, will still be viewed by the victim as if it is of a trusted domain.

iPhone Mail and Safari on firmware 1.1.4 and 2.0 are affected by this vulnerability. Apple’s security team has confirmed the vulnerability. Raff says he is withholding details until after a patch is released. In the meantime, iPhone users should avoid clicking on links in the Mail app that refers to trusted sites.
A second vulnerability in the iPhone Mail application that could help spammers was also reported and acknowledged as a security issue by Apple. Raff describes this as “a basic security design flaw which might already be exploited in-the-wild.”
I have seen proof-of-concept code for both vulnerabilities and can confirm that the iPhone is potentially a phisher’s/spammer’s best friend.

Royals 'targeted by blackmailers'

Buckingham Palace has refused to discuss a report that a member of the Royal Family has been the subject of a blackmail attempt.

According to the Sunday Times, the case involves allegations of drugs and sex.

The BBC understands that the claims do not relate to a senior royal, but to one with a low public profile.

Police said two men, aged 30 and 40, appeared before City of Westminster magistrates on 13 September accused of blackmail and were remanded in custody.

They will next appear at the Old Bailey in December.

It's taken six weeks for it to come to light, so how serious is the allegation?
Dickie Arbiter
Former Palace spokesman

A Palace spokesperson would only say it was a police matter and Scotland Yard was investigating.

The Sunday Times says two men contacted a member of the royal staff and demanded £50,000, threatening to go public with video recordings involving sex and drugs if their demand was not met.

The paper alleges that the extortion attempt was launched on 2 August when a man telephoned the royal's office and said he had evidence that the royal had supplied an aide with an envelope containing cocaine.

According to the Sunday Times, the caller then claimed that he had a video tape showing the aide performing oral sex on someone, who the alleged blackmailer indicated was the royal.

During further calls, one of the men said that he had footage of an aide snorting cocaine, the paper adds.

The report alleges that a detective posing as a member of the royal's staff arranged a meeting at the Hilton hotel on London's Park Lane on 11 September, where parts of the video were shown. But Scotland Yard detectives who had been secretly filming the meeting from an adjacent room then arrested the two suspects, it continues.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said the magistrates hearing had been held "in camera", or in private, and that reporting restrictions had been imposed to prevent the victim or witnesses from being identified.

'Vast family'

Former Palace spokesman Dickie Arbiter said royal officials would have carried out their own inquiry into the validity of the Sunday Times story, but that it was unlikely that the name of the royal would be revealed.

"It's a vast family, there are nearly 40 members. Is it somewhere near the top? Is it in the middle, or is it down at the bottom? So they would have to determine that.

"We don't know, we won't know, until the case comes to trial at the Old Bailey in December, and we might not even know then, which member of the Royal Family [it is]."

Mr Arbiter added that he was surprised by how long it had taken for the story to break.

"It's taken six weeks for it to come to light, so how serious is the allegation?

"It's interesting too, that it's come out in the Sunday Times and not one of the usual tabloid scoops.

"So it's going to take the due process of the law to determine was this true or was this just another fake sting?"

10 rules of indian film making

Two brothers separated in childhood will always grow up on different sides of the law. The law-breaker, however, will suddenly turn over a new leaf before the end, bash up the villain (who is the *real* bad guy), and be pardoned for all his sins before the last-scene family reunion. (This is possible only if he has a heroine - see rule 2 below).

  • If the number of heroes is not equal to the number of heroines, the excess heroes/heroines will
    a) die
    b) join the Red Cross and take off to Switzerland before the end of the movie.
  • If there are 2 heroes in a movie, they will fight each other savagely for at least 5 minutes (10 if they are brothers).
  • Any court scene will have the dialogue "Objection milord". If it is said by the hero, or his lawyer, it will be overruled. Else, it will be sustained.
  • The hero's sister will usually marry the hero's best friend (i.e. the second hero).
Else, she will be raped by the villain within the 1st 30 minutes, and commit suicide.
  • In a chase, the hero will always overtake the villain, even on a bullock-cart, or on foot.
  • When the hero fires at the villain(s), he will never
    a) miss
    b) run out of bullets.
  • When the villain fires at the hero, he will always miss (unless the hero is required to die, as in rule 2).
  • Any fight sequence shall take place in the vicinity of a stack of
    a) pots
    b) barrels
    c) glass bottles, which will be smashed to pieces.
Any movie involving lost and found brothers will have a song sung by
    a) the brothers
    b) their blind mother (but of course, she has to be blind in order to regain her sight in the climax)
    c) the family dog/cat.
  • Police inspectors (when not played by the hero) come in two categories:
    a) Scrupulously honest, probably the hero's father - killedby the villain before the titles.
    b) Honest, but always chasing the anti-hero (as in Rule 1), saying"Tum kanoon se bach nahin sakte", only to pat him in the back in reel 23. Usually, this inspector's daughter is in love with the anti-hero.
    c) The corrupt inspector, (usually the real villain's sidekick) unceremoniously knocked about by the hero(s) in the climax.
